Many delinquent drivers lost their licenses and had to return to the classroom to retrieve it through courses and exams for recycling delinquent drivers. The objective of the program is to retrain the driver, identify and drive faults, update them on current legislation, in addition to developing positive psychosocial attitudes regarding traffic.
The recycling test is divided into four subjects: Defensive Driving, Traffic Legislation, Environment and Citizenship, and First Aid.
Direct suspension of the driver's license occurs due to nine situations. Among them are exceeding 20 points on the license, being caught doing splits or grabs, threatening pedestrians, exceeding the maximum speed limit, omitting help and not wearing a helmet.
From 1999 to last year, 90,173 drivers had their license suspended. Of these, 35,415 delivered the document to the Detran, waited for the suspension period, which varies from 1 to 12 months for the first suspension and from 6 months to 2 years for a repeat offender. The others continue to drive illegally.
If caught, these drivers will be unable to drive for two years and will have to go through the entire driving school process again.
The content to be studied for the test is: Traffic Legislation, Defensive Driving, First Aid, Environment and Citizenship.
